How to Build Your Own Camera

Hong Kong-based creative agency kit da studio created a DIY camera kit for toy camera enthusiasts who enjoy experimenting.

The studio designed a template for the camera, called KDS-POTO2, for users to follow. It requires an acrylic board, laser cutter, sandpaper and a variety of tools to construct; not a simple task by any stretch, but if you’re a fan of the hazy, lo-fi look of Lomography cameras, one worth the effort.

The camera supports both 135 and 120 film, has bulb and normal shutter modes, a frame counter, and interchangeable lenses.

Detailed templates and instructions to make your own camera can be found on DIY Photography’s website.
