In Malibu, A Flintstones-Inspired House

Famous American TV host Dick Clark has decided to put his Flintstones-inspired Malibu for $3.5 million.

The custom-designed house sits on 23 acres of land and features a cave-like interior, rocky walls and lots of natural light.

The architect, Phillip Jon Brown, said the prehistoric design was dictated by circumstance.

The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreational Area, which sits next to the property originally objected to Clark building a home there.

"[Clark] dug in his heels and said he was going to build a house there," said Brown. "I came up with the idea that if the house looked like a rock formation, the park conservancy would let us build on top. They liked the concept."
