IKEA Remakes Sustainable Versions Of Classic Pieces
By Syafiqah Omar, 24 Apr 2012
Swedish furniture giant IKEA has remade sustainable versions of its most popular pieces.
Unveiling its PS Collection at the ongoing Milan Design Week, these furniture items were reworked to make them eco-friendly and recyclable.
Some of the green design includes tables and storage solutions remade using bamboo and steel, and lamps fitted with LED bulbs.
“For the IKEA PS 2012 collection, we looked at our history for inspiration, and challenged our designers to bring their designs forward with innovative products that belong in the future,” says Janice Simonsen, IKEA US spokesperson.
The new collection will hit stores in August.
