Freelancing has become an enormous part of the work landscape. Spending many hours in the office is now an option—but not having a stable employer also has its downsides.

According to the infographic ‘The Pitfalls of Freelancing’, it states that women dominate the freelance world (60%)—most of which are the from the Gen-X generation and are highly educated.
IT freelancers make the biggest earnings in the freelancing world.
The top 10 in-demand freelancers are: PHP programmers, WordPress programmers, article writing, graphic design, HTML programmers, CSS, MySQL, Photoshop, Blogs and Javascript.
However, freelancing has its pitfalls. These include: unemployment, scraping by, lack of healthcare, and getting stiffed of their pay by employers.
Despite the pitfalls, the infographic also says that most freelancers truly enjoy the work they do, are happy being independent workers, and are doing well.
