Photographer Reveals The People Behind The Uniforms
In her latest project, Dutch photographer Herlinde Koelbl took portraits of people from various professions in and out of work attire or uniform.
Titled ‘Kleider Machen Leute’ which translates to ‘Clothes Make The Man’, people who do various jobs—such as a priest, a geisha, an army officer and a chimney sweeper—are stripped of their uniforms and other items that are associated with their profession.
Koelbl exploses the workers behind the clothes to highlight that they are only made recognizable, based on their work attire.
Walking down the street, would you be able to guess a person’s profession based on their civilian clothes?
