Designer Transforms Clothes to Chairs
German designer Tobias Juretzek takes old clothes and upcycles them into something else: chairs.
The Rememberme Chairs are made from worn-and-torn clothes and so are full of character; no two chairs look alike, and each tells a unique story with 13 pounds of clothing.
Juretzek collected the clothes from friends, a used clothing company as well his own closet, soaked them in resin and compressed them in a mold to finish with these stylish chairs.
The designer said his chairs are about “appreciation, relationship, separation and continuous reinvention”; even though the clothes have long past their use-by date, in each garment there is “personal significance”.
