Facebook Releases Camera App Similar To Instagram
What did Facebook do after acquiring Instagram for US$1 billion ? They created their own camera app!
Called ‘Facebook Camera’—the app has camera filters with basic editing and cropping functions—something familiar to Instagram users.
The difference? Photos are uploaded directly to Facebook instead of an in-app account, and multiple photos can be uploaded at once.
According to Facebook representative Dirk Stoop, he says that Facebook Camera would make sharing and uploading Facebook photos much faster and easier.
Aside from quicker uploads to Facebook, Facebook Camera seems very similar to Instagram.
Which leaves us to question—why did Facebook buy Instagram in the first place?
The Facebook Camera app is currently free for download on the US iTunes Store.
