Using Paper, Artist Creates Intricately-Detailed Dioramas Of Japan
At first glance, these images look like tilt-shift photos of the streets of Japan—but up close, the images are actually miniature paper cities.
New York-based Japanese artist Yumiko Matsui meticulously crafted the miniature streets of the country—with great precision and intricate detail, using colored paper and glue.
“If you had ever been to any of the cities I have any of the cities I have created in miniature, you might actually feel sentimental!” Matsui wrote on her website.
“If you have never been to these cities, I want to give you a preparatory experience! I hope to provide small happiness and kindness to people through my artwork.”
