Would You Eat A Pizza That Costs $450?
British Colombia, Canada-based pizza chain Steveston Pizza Co. has revealed a pizza worth US$450.
Called the ‘C6’, the pizza consists of lobster thermidor, Alaskan black cod, and a side of Russian osetra caviar.
But for those on budget, the restaurant also offers a US$120 version that’s topped with roasted garlic, Icelandic scampi, smoked steelhead and lobster ratatouille.
“I never thought I’d sell so many,” Nader Hatami, owner of Steveston Pizza Company, told The Province. “The idea was to make a culinary statement… I don’t know if you’ve tried our pizza but each one is pretty unique.”
The previous Guinness World Records for most expensive pizzas were set by: Chef Gordon Ramsay, with a $100 British pounds-worth pizza of onion puree, white truffle paste, fontina cheese, baby mozzarella, pancetta, cepe mushrooms, freshly pixked wild mizuna lettuce, and shaved white truffles.
However, the C6 still does not top the world’s most expensive pizza, as—according to World Records Academy—Margo’s Pizzeria in Malta tops the record with a US$2,382-worth pizza made with white truffles, 24-carat gold leaf and buffalo mozzarella.
