A Radio Show That Uses Frequency Sounds To Repel Mosquitoes
Brazilian adventure-travel magazine, Go Outside, has collaborated with Sao Paulo radio station, Band FM, to broadcast a music program that naturally repels mosquitoes.
The radio station plays a 15 kHz frequency sound that is inaudible to humans, but repels mosquitoes because it mimics the sound of dragonflies—a natural predator of mosquitoes.
The concept behind this ‘repelling’ idea was to encourage radio listeners to head outside from 6pm to 8pm, when mosquitos’ bites were most frequent.
