Street Artist Turns Chicago Sidewalks Into A ‘Monopoly’ Board
An anonymous street artist who goes by the name, ‘Bored’, has turned the sidewalks of Chicago into a life size game of monopoly.
Stacks of plywood Monopoly ‘chance’ cards were bolted down on sidewalks, giving the city a three-dimensional form of street art instead of the usual spray painted stencils and poster pasted works.
According to Bored, he said that there was a lack of quality street art in Chicago and he wanted to ‘present something 3-dimensional that can be picked up, beaten down, kicked, yanked, grabbed, and broken.’
He also adds that if his works were removed, it would be like weed and ‘grow back’—however, it might evolve in ‘something different’ if left alone.
