Completing Absence is a lighting system that explores the relationship between object and user by helping save energy and hoping to inspire behavioral change.
Designed by Petra Schmidt, the lamp is self-regulated; users activate the lamp with a pull of the opposite end.
When the illuminated end reaches its lowest position, the lamp automatically shuts off—and in doing so acts as an energy clock for the user to measure his or her consumption habits.
