IKEA Takes Over Tiny Spaces Of Tokyo’s Streets

To prove that its furniture can enrich even the smallest living spaces, Swedish brand IKEA took over the tiny streets, alleys, under-stairs spaces of Harajuku street in Tokyo, Japan.

The project, called ‘IKEA SUKIMA GALLERY’ (Gap Gallery), showcases the art of storage, and how little space the brand's furniture takes up—with bookcases, chairs, tables and other pieces of its furniture filling the books and crannies of buildings, transforming the narrow spaces into places that can be effectively put to use.
