Funny Photo Series Shows ‘World’s Best Father’ And His Adorable Daughter
Washington-based photographer Dave Engledow created a tongue-in-cheek photo series—with help from his wife Jen—that pokes fun at the father he never hopes to be.
In ‘World’s Best Father’, he portrays himself as a distracted, self-absorbed, neglectful, clueless and occasionally overbearing father towards his four-year-old daughter Alice Bee.
In all pictures of the series, Engledow is featured humorously holding a ‘World’s Best Father’ coffee mug.
“I’ve always used humor as a way to deal with my personal fears and neuroses, and in many ways these images are often an attempt to do just that—to illustrate humorously the fears that I and, as I’ve learned, many other new fathers have about fatherhood,” he writes.
Engledow is also raising money on Kickstarter to produce a 2013 calendar using the top images of the series.
