Facebook Now Lets You Send Real-Life Gifts To Friends
By John Yong, 28 Sep 2012
Honestly, if it weren’t for Facebook, most of us would probably forget our friends’ birthdays.
Instead of leaving them the usual ‘Happy Birthday’ wall post or ‘Poke’, Facebook has just rolled out a new feature that allows you to send them a real-life gift.
Whether it is a birthday, anniversary or special occasion, Facebook will now offer the option of sending a gift, simply by clicking a button below the event.
You can choose a variety of different gifts to send—such as cupcakes, chocolates, teddy bears and even gift cards.
Once the gift has been selected, the recipient will receive a notification on his or her wall—Facebook will also collect the shipping information directly from your friend and ship it straight to their doorstep.
As the sender, you also have the option of paying straight away or after, once the gift has been delivered.
According to Facebook, this new feature will gradually roll out—it will be introduced to the people in US first.
