The Rise And Fall Of The Polaroid Camera
New York magazine editor Christopher Bonanos has released a book that traces the rise and fall of the Polaroid camera.
The book titled ‘Instant: The Story of Polaroid’, tells the story of Edwin Land, the co-founder of the Polaroid camera and how the camera revolutionized the way people understood and used photography.
The book highlights the camera’s meteoric rise in popularity and adoption by artists such as Ansel Adems, Andy Warhol and Chuck Close—and later, the company’s decline into bankruptcy in the late ‘90s.
The late Steve Jobs considered Land his role model, and had used many of his ideas to turn Apple into the tech giant the company is today.
Instant: The Story of Polaroid is available on Amazon for US$15.35.
