By Dorothy Tan, 11 Oct 2012
True to its name, everything in ‘Carton’ restaurant in Taichung City, Taiwan is made from corrugated cardboard—from its furnishing to its plates.
Designed to illustrate the power and potential of paper and cardboard, all the elements of the restaurant can be easily recycled when they break or are damaged.
Located in Carton King Creativity Park, the restaurant proves that underrated materials like paper and cardboard have far more uses than just for printing and packaging.
If you have doubts about a cardboard chair’s ability to hold up your weight, the establishment will happily bring out its chef—who weighs 100kg—to test it for you.
