Superman Quits ‘The Daily Planet’, May Start Next ‘Huffington Post’

After years of working as a crime reporter at The Daily Planet⎯where he has been employed since 1940⎯Clark Kent quits the metropolitan newspaper in the latest issue of Superman.

Disillusioned by the dipping standards of print journalism, Kent⎯Superman’s mild-mannered alter-ego⎯throws in the towel in front of the entire staff after a Jerry Maguire-like rant against the industry.

According to Superman writer Scott Lobdell, Superman will not be joining any other major newspaper and may start the next hit news website.

“He is more likely to start the next Huffington Post or the next Drudge Report than he is to go find someone else to get assignments or draw a paycheck from,” Lobdell tells USA TODAY.

Fans of the comic can expect to see Clark Kent come into his own in the next few years, as he takes to the internet to bare the truth.
