The World’s First ‘Facebook Profile Picture’ Exhibition
Frustrated with the “boring” portraits exhibited in most national galleries, the people behind ‘The Profile Picture Exhibition’ wish to help the social media generation claim its place in art history by hosting the world’s first Facebook profile picture exhibition at national galleries all over the world.
The online initiative has ambitious plans to hold this inaugural “art photography” event at some of the most prestigious venues in the art world—including London’s National Portrait Gallery, Paris’ Louvre Museum, and New York’s Metropolitan Museum.
In order to make that happen, the organizers need one million “likes” on the event’s Facebook page.
We are not sure how they would be pulling this off, but if you have always wanted to see your picture in a national gallery, just click on that “like” button—everyone who participates will be featured in the exhibition.
