Breed-Specific, DIY Architecture For Dogs
Japanese art director and designer Kenya Hara has invited 11 illustrious architects and designers to come up with custom-made homes for dogs.
In the spirit of DIY, the structures are made of easily accessible raw materials like wood and cardboard—blueprints of each design will also be available for download on the project website so that dog owners can build their own designer dog house.
Every one of the designs are inspired by and tailor-made for a particular breed of dog—for instance, Hara himself has constructed a elevated platform that will hoist a teacup poodle to human level and better allow it to look at its owners.
Building things for non-human clients is certainly an interesting way to explore architecture.
