Stove Charges iPhone With Fire
To advocate wood as a clean and safe alternative to modern fuels, BioLite has developed a portable camp stove that burns kindling to charge iPhones.
Using a thermoelectric generator chip, the small and nifty BioLite stove is able to convert its own thermal energy to electricity to power LED lights and the charging of cell phones.
Armed with a USB port at its side, it also produces a safe, smokeless fire for outdoor cooking—perfect for camping trips.
Spotted on the streets of New York in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, the stove allowed people to charge their dead cell phones before electrical power could be restored.
