An Italian Library That Seems To Be Floating On Water

Italian architectural studio Andrea Maffei Architects—together with Japanese architect Arata Isozaki—has designed and built a new public library that appears to be floating on water.

Located at Maranello in Italy, this new library is bounded by undulating glass walls and surrounded by a shallow pool of water, which gives the impression that the structure is suspended over the water.

With an interior that is almost completely white and being enveloped by greenery, the building is designed to be a serene urban sanctuary for reading, studying and learning.
