The War Goes On: Twitter Introduces Filters, Instagram Releases Updates
By Dorothy Tan, 11 Dec 2012
Just a day after speculations about Twitter’s new photo filters, the social media site has updated its app and officially introduced new picture-editing features.
Produced in partnership with Aviary, the new features include eight photo filters, crop and zoom functions, and a handy auto-enhance icon.
Most importantly, with Instagram cutting itself off from Twitter, users would now be able to use the Twitter's new features to enhance their pictures on the social media site.
Not to be outdone, Instagram also released a small update—complete with a brand new filter—shortly before the launch of Twitter’s new photo add-ons.
In addition to its re-designed camera interface, Instagram also tweaked its image news feed, included a new one-tap auto-enhance function, and tied up with FourSquare on its geo-tagging function.
With all these updates, one would think that these two applications are trying to replicate each other.
Who do you think will win this 'social media war'?
