In China, Pepsi-Chicken Flavored Potato Chips
PepsiCO—the parent company of Pepsi and Lay’s—has combined two of its brands into a single product: Pepsi-chicken flavored Lay’s potato chips.
According to AdAge, it describes the flavor as “vaguely similar to barbecue with a sugary aftertaste” and taste of Pepsi is “fleeting and lacks fizz”.
The launch of this oddly-paired flavored chips was also much bigger than any previous flavors in the China market—which include the likes of lemon tea-, cucumber- and hot-and-sour fish soup-flavored potato chips.
