Hyperrealistic Portrait Created With 2.1 Million Dots
Artist Miguel Endara used 2.1 million dots to create this mind-blowing hyperrealistic portrait of a man.
Titled “Benjamin Kyle”, this portrait was modeled after a man who had no recollection of anything—not even his own name, so the hospital who treated him named him using the initials of the fast-food restaurant where he was found unconscious nearby in 2004.
Benjamin Kyle has dissociative amnesia, and has been the only American citizen who is officially listed missing despite his known whereabouts.
The portrait was done slowly and steadily by hand and it took 138 hours to complete using the technique of stippling –which Endara ‘drew’ with ink dots.
