A Playable Record Made Of Ice That You Can Make Yourself
Swedish indie band Shout Out Louds has created an unconventional way to promote their new single “Blue Ice”—by letting a very select group of media listen to it on a record made of ice.
To add to the novelty of it all, the band requires the listener to actually make the record themselves—or rather, freeze it themselves.
The specialized media kit contains a mold and a bottle of water—the ice record would be ready to be played after about six hours in the freezer.
Listeners have a short while to listen to it before it melts—the only downside is that the song would be played at only about 30% of its original quality.
