A Book Of Whimsical Inventions To ‘Improve’ Our Lives

London designer Dominic Wilcox has cheekily written a book that features 100 strangely logical inventions that could possibly help ‘improve’ our lives—or leave you scratching your head.

In his book called ‘Variations on Normal’, his innovations can be seen as little visual jokes or riddles that give a unique insight to the world around us.

For example, he came up with a wine glass attachment that fits the stem of a wine bottle—making it ‘classier’ to drink straight from the bottle.

“Wilcox’s drawings aren’t just witty and beautifully drawn,” said UK architect Thomas Heatherwick about the book, “They are serious challenges to the real world to keep looking at itself with innocent eyes, wondering what else is possible.”

Variations on Normal is available for purchase here at £8.00.
