To kick off the new year, Italian luxury label Gucci has teamed up with renowned Japanese manga artist Hirohiko Araki to create a manga-style window display.

Inspired by the label’s ‘Cruise’ 2013 collection, Araki’s manga (Japanese comic strip) tells the story of ‘Jolyne Cujoh’, a student who inherits a keepsake from her mother’s Gucci collection.

She then embarks on a journey that transcends time to discover the mystery behind her vintage treasure.

“I am quite sure his window installations will stop people in their tracks in cities around the world as they immerse themselves in the fabulous fantasy world he has created,” said the label’s creative director, Frida Giannini.

The window display will be installed across over 70 Gucci boutiques worldwide.
