Flickr App Challenges Instagram With New Filters & Photo-Editing Tools
Many Instagram users may be considering a move to another photo-sharing platform after Instagram’s terms of service saga; the updated Flickr app has just made it easier for them to switch over.
The Yahoo-owned photo service is known best as a web service, but the latest major update to its mobile app has introduced features that enable it to take on Instagram.
One of the biggest changes to the Flickr app is the addition of 15 filters—each named after an animal—and the ability to share these edited images on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.
According to Wall Street Journal's All Things D, the enhanced Flickr app triumphs Instagram with its more advanced editing features, which is suitable for serious photographers—in other words, Flickr can be seen as the “grown-up” version of Instagram.
