Periodic Table Elements Reimagined As Whimsical Cartoon Characters
For her senior thesis project, Minnesota-based illustrator Kaycie D. turned the elements from the periodic table into whimsical cartoon characters.
Titled ‘Elements: Experiments in Character Design’, she personifies each element by implementing its individual characteristics into the character design.
For example, the element Carbon was drawn in its three forms—charcoal, graphite, and diamond—while Copper, which is good conductor of electricity, was drawn as a lightning-powered superhero.
