Stunning Hotel Tucked Away In Italian Ski-Resort
The small ski-resort of Piancavallo, Italy, is home to an interestingly-named place to stay called the Slow Horse Hotel.
Designed by Italian practice Elasticospa, the handsome hotel boasts 37-bedrooms, fitted with a total of 99 beds.
One of the most prominent architectural aspects of the building is its roof component, which features carefully designed hips and valleys that emerge from the roof at various angles and lengths.
When it snows, the roof ‘artfully’ collects snow and ice in a myriad of ways that cleverly correspond with the orientation of each room's interior.
In warmer weather, the canopy prevents the re-freeze of falling water in public areas below by dispersing the melting snow without allowing it to spill haphazardly.
