Laser-Cut Rolling Pins That Let You Create Edible Plates
Joanne Choueiri, Giulia Cosenza, Povilas Raskevicius from Rotterdam’s Piet Zwart Institute created a set of patterned rolling pins that let you create edible plates.
Called ‘Rollware’, the rolling pins are laser-cut with patterns, and were designed for its users to make bread-based plates from dough in various sizes.
All users have to do is to use the low-tech, hand-powered appliances to imprint patterns onto the brad dough, and cut the dough to the plate size they desires—then put it in the oven.
Reminiscent of pizzas, the outcome of edible plates offer more flexibility in terms of usage than that of the former mentioned.
Simple, yet ingenious.
