A Gigantic Inflated Space Suit That Houses A Fashion & Design Exhibition

Polish-born, New York-based artists Joanna Malinowska and Christian Tomaszewski has created the awe-inspiring “Mother Earth Sister Moon” installation, a gigantic inflated space suit that contains a fashion and design showcase.

A replica of the suit worn by Russian astronaut Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman to go into space, this monumental project “explores how the future was imagined under the Communist regime of the former Soviet Union”.

Visitors are invited to wander about inside this massive space suit—events, such as fashion shows and film screening, have also been hosted in this unconventional venue.

The installation is currently on display at the Zacheta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, Poland and will run until 19 May 2013.
