Endearing Photos Celebrate Aging Companions: A Granny And Her Loyal Cat

A little over a decade ago, Japanese photographer Miyoko Ihara started taking photographs of Misao, her grandmother.
Incidentally, she captured the lovely relationship of her 89-year-old granny had with an adorable tabby cat named, Fukumaru—which is Japanese for, ‘good fortune circle’.
As the heartwarming story goes, Misao and Fukumaru met when the former found her abandoned in a shed. Ihara's granny described the tabby as an “odd-eyed kitten” which naturally caught her attention.
Fukumaru experiences some disabilities and isn't entirely healthy. Nevertheless, both Misao and Fukumaruhave graciously aged together, giving each other the comfort that the other needs.
