Spanish Town Mails Uncleared Dog Poop Back To Pet Owners
Tired of pet owners who don’t clean up after their dogs, the Spanish town of Brunete in Madrid decided to take matters into their own hands.
Together with ad agency McCann, they employed 20 volunteers to patrol the streets and observe dog owners who didn’t clean up after their pets.
After observing them, the volunteers would approach the owners and ask for their dogs’ name and breed.
Using the information, they tracked the owners using a pet database and mailed the dog poop back to them as ‘Lost Property’—together with a warning letter.
According to the video, the campaign was successful and the town saw 70% less dog poop on the streets.
