Desserts Inspired By Famous Artists And Their Iconic Artworks

Jackson Pollock abstract expressionist ‘Rice Krispie Treats’

Jumping on the art-inspired food trend, New York-based photographer Sarah Anne Ward—in collaboration with food stylists Heather Meldrom and Michelle Gatton—has created desserts inspired by famous artists in history.

Her five pieces of edible art take after works by Rothko, Picasso and Braque, Mondrian, Pollock and Koons—and come in the form rice krispies, Twinkies, cake and jello.

“When approaching each dessert, I always pull out my good ol’ art-history book and dive in,” Ward told Grub Street. “It’s not just making the picture with food; it’s making it in a way that it can be served, eaten, and also recognizable.”

Ward also has plans to make more dessert artworks inspired by Dalí and Calder.

Her mouth-watering sweet treats are a dream for foodies and art lovers alike.
