Air France's New Flatware That Can Be Assembled Into A Model Airplane
By Loke Shi Ying, 12 Oct 2013
French industrial designer Eugeni Quitllet has designed flatware for Air France that can be assembled to form a model airplane.
Taking inspiration from the aerodynamics of the aircraft, the set of cutlery (comprising of a knife, spoon, fork and a set of wings) is ergonomically designed for a comfortable grip.
Quitllet was engaged by Air France to redesign the airline’s flatware, with a mission of helping the airline reduce their carbon footprint. We have previously featured Quitllet’s work here.
This new design will debut in October 2013. It will reduce the company’s raw material usage by 30%, and will bring huge savings for the airline.
