Designer Makes Little Signs For Lost Items In NYC, Lets Them Tell Their Stories
By Dorothy Tan, 19 Feb 2014
Based in New York City, graphic designer Yoonjin Lee has embarked on a quirky new project where she tries to give a voice to the lost items found in the city.
Picking up the small objects that lay forgotten on the streets, she would then make little cardboard signs, on which she has written funny messages, for them.
Holding up their signs with tiny paper hands, these formerly anonymous items become interesting personalities with their own “thoughts and feelings”.
For instance, while a MetroCard that still has US$1 value is indignant about being misplaced, a forlorn red lighter relates itself to buses that “come and go”.
