Artist Transforms The Drawings Of Sick Children, Makes Their Dreams Come True
By Thia Shi Min, 17 Mar 2014
Based in Ontario, Canada, artist Shawn Van Daele makes use of his talents to give hope to children.
Van Daele was inspired when his parents gave him one of the drawings he had made as a child. The artist digitized it, “magically” transforming it to make his fantasy come true. It when then that he realized he could do the same with sick children’s drawings and draw attention to their plight.
To date, Van Daele has transformed many drawings. These images will be included in books, which will encourage donors to contribute to the cause.
The artist stated that he does this to show that “anything is possible”. He wants to tell these kids’ personal stories in these manipulated images—hopefully these magical creations will spur them on the road to recovery.
What do you think—isn’t this an incredibly kind and fun way of making use of one’s talents?
