A Paris Metro Map That Shows Stations Renamed After Famous Women

Subway maps of famous cities have been redesigned countless times—this version of the Paris Metro map by French artist Silvia Radelli shines the spotlight on the famous women who have made a mark on history.

Motivated by the fact that so few women get commemorated by having a subway station named after them, Radelli decided to create a map that shows the Parisian stations being renamed after women who have made significant contributions to the world.

Featuring well-known names like artist Frida Khalo, author Jane Austen and actress Marlene Dietrich, this map is a tribute to the inspiring ladies who have made a difference.

Titled “Métroféminin”, this piece is currently on display at Paris’s Galerie L'Aléatoire.
