Graphic Designer Turns His Resume Into A Box Of Chocolates, Hands It To Agencies
By Jillian Wong, 28 Mar 2014
Frustrated at not hearing back from the companies he applied to, graphic designer Rob Jervis decided to take his CV up a notch by turning it into a box of chocolates, literally.
He redesigned his resume as a box and learnt to make chocolates like oreo truffles, peanut butter cups and amaretto ganaches to place in it.
“I handed these out to numerous top design and advertising companies in London and in Cambridge. Within an hour or two of receiving these, reputable companies were emailing me with the offer of paid internships and interviews and it was only 2 or 3 that didn’t reply,” said Jervis in an interview with Creative Bloq.
His delicious stunt paid off and he landed a two-week internship with LFH, which lead to a full-time position.
With stiff competition for jobs, presenting your resume in unusual and imaginative packaging is a sure-fire way to stand out from the sea of traditional resumes, especially for creatives.
What do you think of Jervis’ chocolate box resume?
