Interactive Project Lets Passers-By Place ‘Skip Ad’ Buttons On Posters
By Thia Shi Min, 07 Apr 2014
A group of creatives have started placing signs that look like YouTube’s “Skip Ad” buttons onto posters in real life.
According to their website, which is called the “Skip Ad Project”, these creatives believe that “Advertising should be relevant [and] bring ideas that can change our lives for better. If not, we will keep skipping them.”
So far, they have taken this project to the streets of New York, São Paulo and Stockholm. We can even download some buttons and do the same if we see an ad that we do not like.
What do you think—is this a clever way of pointing out less-than-stellar ads, or should criticism towards them be more constructive?
