Designer Recreates Iconic Posters And Logos With Bicycle Parts
By Dorothy Tan, 10 Jul 2014
Jenny Beatty, graphic designer and student of the “Masters in Branding” course at The School of Visual Arts in New York City, embarked on a “100 Days” project where she recreates famous posters, logos and other graphic artworks with bicycle parts.
Putting “all the bike junk she has been collecting through the years” to good use, the avid cyclist committed to creating a bike part design a day from 7 April 2014 to 15 July 2014—so far, she has recreated 94 pieces of “iconic works of art” and is nearing the end of her project.
In addition to well-known movie and music posters, she has also brought logos, like those of Apple, Adidas and MTV, to life with various bicycle parts—she would list the parts she has used at the bottom of the blog post that relates to each artwork.
