Lawyer Quits Job With Creative Departure Memo To Pursue Illustrator Dreams

Nowadays, it’s not just the resumés that are getting innovative; even leaving one’s job can be done in a creative fashion.

Only wished to be known as “Catherine”, according to Yahoo!, the New York-based lawyer decided to fulfill her dreams of becoming an illustrator. So she created a website titled ‘My Life in Law (A Short Story)’, illustrating the reasons for her departure.

Beginning her story with a confession that she “had gone to law school fairly aimlessly in my mid-20s with no real plan other than the well-beaten path”, she soon realized that the lawyering life isn’t cut out for her.

She then ended with inspirational and motivational advice to spur individuals to never give up on doing the things that they love.

Check out her creative departure memo here.
