A Concept Floating Cycling Path Along The River Thames In London
By Tay Xing Wei, 03 Oct 2014
A group of engineers and architects from River Cycleway Consortium Ltd have proposed a plan to construct a floating cycle path along the River Thames in London.
Called ‘The Thames Deckway’, the 12-kilometers floating path would stretch from Canary Wharf to Battersea and significantly reduce traveling time. It will cater to both cyclists and pedestrians at a flat rate of £1.50 each trip.
This idea was developed with the purpose of solving London’s traffic and pollution problems. “The Thames offers vast, untapped potential to ease and improve London's infrastructure problems. What is needed is imagination to unleash it,” said the company in a statement.
