Photographer Captures Elegant Images Of Moms Breastfeeding In Public
By Yoon Sann Wong, 16 Jun 2015
Chicago-based photographer and mother of two, Ivette Ivens, hopes that her photo series, comprising images of mothers nursing their toddlers in public, will help remove the negative stigma surrounding breastfeeding in the open.
The 25-year-old artist, originally born in Lithuania, explained on Bored Panda that breastfeeding is “a totally normal thing” and that she had nursed her older son until he was three years old.
“I nursed them both anywhere I wanted. From church to parties, from farmers market to high-end designer stores. I believe that mothers should nurse their little ones whenever they want to.”
She recently held at exhibition in Chicago titled ‘I Breastfeed My Toddler’ and will release her photo book ‘Breastfeeding Goddess’ in November 2015.
