The ‘World’s Smallest Portfolio’ Is Barely Bigger Than A Thumbnail
By Dorothy Tan, 29 Jun 2015
Based in London, the UK, freelance designer and illustrator Michael Lester has created ‘The World’s Smallest Portfolio’, a tiny book showcasing his work that is barely larger than a thumbnail.
Lester was asked to get people to talk about him and his work, as part of a brief set by Jelly London for the D&AD New Blood Festival—according to the designer, he decided to shrink his portfolio, both in terms of size and content, to bring across the message that he is a “ideas-driven visual communicator”.
In the pages of this miniature book, you would find several pieces of Lester’s work, with each one being represented by a single image and just one sentence—for instance, an illustration of a car with a power plug, with the caption, “Electric cars can now charge around Europe.”.
Copies of this “world’s smallest portfolio’ are sent in tiny packages to the designer’s favorite agencies—view more images of the project below and over here.
You can also check out more of his work here.
