Art Director Inserts Emojis In Real-Life Situations To Create Funny Scenes
By Jillian Wong, 30 Jul 2015
For the past year, Brooklyn-based art director Brad Warsh has been placing emojis in real-life situations for his ‘Emojis IRL’ project.
Using his iPhone, Warsh inserts emojis on the sides of buildings, in streets and in subway stations to create funny scenes.
Inspiration for the series struck while he was playing around with an app that allowed him to insert text and emojis over images, he told BuzzFeed.
He credits the project for letting him see the world differently. “You’d never look twice at an empty table, dark alleyway, or even a dirty windowsill for that matter. But now I do.”
Check out some of his pictures below, and view more at his Instagram account or by searching the hashtag '#emoji_irl' on Instagram.
