A few months ago, the 2,800-strong staff of Facebook moved into the company’s expanded 430,000-square-foot building in Menlo Park, California.
The office, designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry, sports an open floor plan and a desk for CEO Mark Zuckerberg right smack in the mix.
During Zuckerberg’s virtual tour of the new office—prior to the Town Hall meeting where he announced Facebook’s upcoming ‘dislike’ button—he explained, “The whole idea here is that, by having an open floor plan where people work close to each other, it facilitates people sharing and communicating about what they’re doing, which enables better collaboration, which we think is key to building the best services for our community.”
