Museum ‘Bans’ Cameras, Encourages Visitors To Sketch Artworks To Appreciate Them
By Jillian Wong, 18 Nov 2015
To encourage visitors to put down their cameras and take in the artworks in front of them, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam recently launched its ‘The Big Draw’ campaign aimed at helping them “discover and appreciate the beauty of art and history through drawing”.
The museum invited visitors to participate in free drawing activities over the weekend of 24 and 25 October. It has also started a drawing series on Saturdays, under the tagline ‘You See More When You Draw’.
